Krav Maga - Simultaneous Defence and Attack, Minimum Response time

 What is Krav Maga?

Krav Maga is NOT a fitness class or a Karate class dressed up as a “self-defence” course. Our Krav Maga classes in Epping are designed to teach the best ways to avoid conflict and survive if you ever get caught in a bad situation.

Krav Maga uses intuitive, quick and explosive movements that are intended to shut down an attack as quickly as possible. Strikes are directed at an attacker’s most vulnerable points for maximum effect to enable a fast escape. Krav Maga taught to some of the world’s most elite combat units and has been adapted for use by law enforcement, security organisations as well as for civilian self-defence.

Students training Krav Maga at our centre learn to deal with a wide range of scenarios. They learn fighting skills and how to defend against strikes, kicks, choke holds, grabs, headlocks, single and multiple attackers, as well as weapons such as knives, batons and firearms.

While Krav Maga was originally developed for military application in high conflict countries, its principles have purposed for application to local conditions for civilian self defence, in line with the legal principles and restrictions for the use of force in Australia.

Can I get a Black Belt in Krav Maga?

Our Krav Maga classes are taught in line with the BJMA Krav Maga curriculum. Progress is measured in line with advancement through a series of ranks from White belt through to Black Belt, and extends through to 5th Degree Black Belt.

Do I need any equipment?

AAMA supply an extensive amount of training aids to make our training among the best in the world. Striking equipment, matted rooms, mirrors, wrestling dummies, self-defence props and other training aids are provided. For personal safety and hygiene, we do ask that students purchase specific personal items/protective equipment such as gloves, shin guards, mouth guard, groin guard.
