AAMA Club Update - March 2022

Hanshi Marc's Kyuudan (9th Degree) Presentation & Club News: March 2022

What a huge start to 2022 it's been! It's been amazing to have everyone back on the mat, training hard, every day since we reopened in January! Classes are back to running 5 days a week, including Saturday mornings - and it's awesome to see the progress everyone is making toward April Gradings across all styles - Kids Karate, Zen Do Kai, Muay Thai, Krav Maga and Eskrima!

We had a very special start to the year this year with Hanshi Marc being awarded his 9th Degree rank - Tara Miliata, by Soke Bob Jones. This honorable acknowledgement of Hanshi Marc's achievements and contribution to martial arts over his 40 years of training and teaching, is the first part of the third and final stage of the esoteric Degrees. Ninth Degree is titled ‘Professor’. At this level it is all about the third and final emersion into the Trilogy of the Seven Esoterical Degrees. 9th Degree represents ‘One’s ability to penetrate and unite all things of matter and spirit’. Our black belts had the honour of taking part in Hanshi's Kyuudan (9th Degree) belt ceremony, which took place at AAMA on the 25th January and was based on Senjo (3 circles/rings) where they were able to witness the moment Hanshi put on his 9th Degree belt for the very first time.

There is lots happening at the moment at AAMA - Classes are as high energy as we've ever seen them and everyone is working hard, every single day! We hope we've seen the end of lockdowns for good, and that the energy stays high, along with the smiles, the sweat and passion for training!

Any day is a good day to start something new! If you're thinking about whether martial arts could help you achieve your personal, fitness or self-defence goals, come in and say hi - we'd love to meet you, and we're here to help.

To all our current members - you're all legends! See you on the mat!!!!!! 💪🥋👊
