Weapons Sparring Popup at AAMA: Knife Sparring

WEKAF Australia is hosting a series of Weapons Sparring Events at AAMA, the first of which was a popup competition knife sparring event on Sat 24 August 2024.
The next event in the series will be held at AAMA on Sat 31 August, 11am-1pm, focusing on Bangkaw/Long Stick Sparring.

On Sat 24th August, WEKAF Australia, the national representative organisation for the competition sport of weapons sparring in Australia (knife, stick, long stick and padded weapons), hosted the first of a series of weapons sparring events at All Active Martial Arts in Epping VIC.

The first popup knife sparring event had a great turnout, with participants having the opportunity to work on knife sparring techniques and take part in friendly competition sparring, while also getting some first hand training and practice in competition judging and refereeing in line with WEKAF (World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation) rules.

The next weapons sparring event will be held on Saturday 31st August, focusing on Bangkaw (Long Stick). The workshop will run from 11am-1pm, with the first hour focusing on training in bangkaw/long stick sparring fundamentals, techniques, and rules for competition sparring, followed by a second hour of friendly tournament sparring. All equipment and armour will be provided.

Tickets are just $25 and available at
