WEKAF Competitor Spotlight: Mason

Meet All Active Martial Arts student Mason, who is set to compete at the 2024 WEKAF World Championships in Cebu, Philippines this month!

Meet Mason! Who at 10 years of age, is headed to Cebu, Philippines this month to compete in the 2024 WEKAF World Championship!


Mason joined All Active Martial Arts Kids Karate in November 2022, and soon developed a keen interest in Kids Eskrima and Stick Fighting. Mason has since been training in competition stick fighting, building skill and speed in live sparring, leading him to compete in the 2023 Victorian State Championships, where he armoured up for single and double live stick sparring events, and qualified for a place in WEKAF Australia's National Team. At this year's competition, Mason will be competing for the chance to become a World Champion!


Mason and his parents will be traveling to Cebu, Philippines this month with an entourage of supportive family members to cheer him on as he competes in the 2024 WEKAF (World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation) World Championship, where he will be joined by competitors representing the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, Chile, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, India, South Korea, Turkey, Reunion Island, Thailand and of course from the host country: the Philippines.

Classes at AAMA will return in full swing on Tuesday 28th Jan 2025, following the Australia Day Long Weekend. AAMA's Holiday Timetable will conclude this Thursday 23rd Jan, ahead of the Australia Day Long Weekend. AAMA will be closed from Saturday 25th Jan - Monday 27th Jan, before our full timetable recommences on Tuesday 28th Jan 2025. We hope you all have a great long weekend - we're in for some warm weather so stay safe and enjoy the sunshine! 😎😎 We're looking forward to seeing everyone back for the full timetable of classes from Tuesday 28/1.
